MLK Day Challenge

Fifty-five years after the March on Washington and unfortunately Chicago is still deemed “America’s Most Segregated City”. We want to change that! We believe to truly make Chicago more interconnected, we need more people, young and old, to visit communities outside of their own.

That’s why for King Day Weekend 2018, we encourage all Chicagoans to step out of their comfort zones and explore new communities.

Through food, culture, and people, discover more of the sights and sounds that make Chicago great. Nothing breaks down barriers like that first hello or a simple conversation. We’ve created a pre-selected list of artful intersections, community roots and hidden gem businesses. (List Below) These are the Hidden Gems SO FAR that we know will be open on King Day. We appreciate you identifying more so we can share with our supporters and all who will be taking the challenge over the course of the weekend.

If you have My Block apparel, snap and share a photo of your exploration. Hashtag #MLKDayChallenge and let us know what you learned
