Earth Day Celebration: Montrose Beach Cleanup

This will be a fun, relaxed cleanup of the biggest beach in the city. Who knows what errant junk was trapped under all that ice over the winter?

Because we can’t help finding lots of birds, mammals, and interesting plants at Montrose Beach, we will also be running nature tours all afternoon. We want to show you how amazing this shoreline really is. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Who can attend: There are no age restrictions for this event. Adults and families with children are welcome. Volunteer, church, school, and alumni groups will find this to be a rewarding community service event. (But please note, no dogs are allowed on Montrose Beach or in the nature preserve.)

What to bring: Dress for the weather (it may be cold!), wear a hat and sunscreen, bring a filled water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, and water will be provided, but please feel free to bring a treat to share. Home-baked cookies are always much appreciated!
