Confronting Our Past, Creating Our Future

  • Providence of God Church 717 West 18th Street Chicago, IL, 60616 United States

Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers and the Parish Peace Project invite you to join young adults, Chicago residents, and faith leaders to create art in solidarity with immigrants and refugees.

Through this community art project we will pray, reflect on current attitudes towards the stranger in our midst, and lift our voices of hope. We will have the opportunity to hear stories from the Internment of Japanese Americans and the Holocaust. Maryknoll's own Sister Joanne Doi, whose father and grandfather were sent to the Manzanar Relocation Camp during WWII, will offer testimony.

This event is being organized by young adults, many of whom are DREAMers (http://bit.ly/2lQcB88).
