Gun Violence in Chicago: A Community Conversation

  • South Side YMCA 6330 South Stony Island Avenue Chicago, IL, 60637 United States (map)

CAA Presents: Gun Violence in Chicago
What’s True, What’s Not, And What We Can Do About It

We in Chicago cannot go a day without hearing about our gun violence problem from politicians or national news pundits who haven’t stepped foot in our city in years, if ever. Certainly gun violence is a problem in Chicago – but many solutions exist, in the form of community-based and community-led initiatives.

Join Chicago Action Alliance in a community conversation with local community activists and grassroots anti-violence groups. We will discuss the reality of gun violence in Chicago, the effects of gun violence on communities and families, and ways big and small we can all get involved with initiatives to end gun violence in Chicago.

We will have speakers from the following organizations:
- Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence
- Moms Demand Action - Illinois
- Strengthening Chicago's Youth
- The Healing Corner

Chicago Action Alliance is a supportive community for volunteers, activists and community builders dedicated to building a stronger and more equitable Chicago. We meet monthly at locations across the city to share our experiences and resources.

Our events are always free and open to the public.
