Three local, grassroots organizations team up to declare Friday, March 31, 2017 as Women Run Chicago Day – a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting women owned businesses in Chicago. We encourage everyone in Chicago to patron one or more woman-owned businesses on 3.31.17. www.womenrunchicago.com has an interactive, updatable map of woman-owned business in Chicago.
Celebrate at The Green Lady: From 6-9 PM on Friday, 3.31.17, we will gather at The Green Lady, 3328 N Lincoln Ave., for an evening of celebration and sharing. The Green Lady will partner with Twisted Hippo Brewery to offer specials on 3 Twisted Hippo draft beers. For every beer sold, Twisted Hippo and The Green Lady will donate $1 to Planned Parenthood. Women Run Chicago Day is about recognizing and celebrating all the diverse and driven women who own or run Chicago businesses.
This project is a joint effort between Liz Kersjes, founder of Chicago Action Alliance, Robin Dusek of Indivisible Illinois, and several other Chicago-area women who all believe information is an important aspect of activism. We believe in uplifting other women, social justice, intersectional solidarity, and supporting local businesses of all sizes.
