Fundraiser for MASK. and Moving Forward Kick-Off Event

  • Empirical Brewery 1801 West Foster Avenue Chicago, IL, 60640 United States

A group of local activists that are interested in advancing progressive social and political policies is having our kick-off event and will be fundraisingr for an organization called M.A.S.K. Join us on Wednesday, April 5th at 6pm at Empirical Brewery to raise money for this great cause, have a beer, and learn more about how to get more involved in the community. $20 at the door gets you in with a free beer! And that $20 goes directly towards MASK.

Mothers Against Senseless Killings was started by a mother in Chicago to stop violence in the most dangerous neighborhoods on the south and west sides. The acronym started as Mothers Against Senseless Killings and has moved to represent all people against senseless killings. The organization's goal is to bring people together in communities and to become a presence in the fight against violence - they set up chairs, bbqs and more.

Moving Forward started in response to Trump's election. We are a community group with the goal of getting more involved in creating positive change in our communities and our country. Since November, we've focused on issues including women's rights, environmental rights, gun sense, and voting rights. We have a weekly e-mail with actionable items and monthly meetings will have a speaker relating to relevant issues.

Really hope you can join for a good cause!
