Chicago Centrists - Meeting w/ guest speaker Tom Tresser

  • Lincoln Park Library

Chicago Centrists is a group for people who feel let down by both political parties and blame the influence of money in politics, a lack of bipartisanship, and gerrymandering for our unresponsive system. If this resonates with you, come out to our June chapter meeting, where we will discuss the overall strategy to bridging the partisan divide, provide a status update of progress so far, and plot the path forward at both the local chapter level and the national Centrist Project organizational level.

This month's speaker will be Tom Tresser, public defender, civic educator, co-founder of The CivicLab, and author of the book "Chicago Is Not Broke." He will talk about Tax Increment Financing (TIFs) and the reason politicians are not using our tax dollars the way the vast majority of taxpayers would like. I hope to see everybody at this meeting to help change the face of politics!
